Company Background

GlobeThe Internet has been described as a commerce channel, a delivery channel, and a great communications vehicle. Less recognized, but still true, is that it is now the world's largest library. The billions of web documents dwarf the Library of Congress's 40 million books, even if many of those billions of documents aren't collection quality.

But, today is only the beginning. In the future, we believe that all material, especially professional material, will be on the web. Some, it is true, will always be behind closed doors, available only to those who pay. And some is confidential, restricted to employees of intranet sponsors. But there is still a vast reservoir of free content -- vast enough to make every professional think three times about how to find it.

Fiducité began in 2000 when a few industry professionals realized that there had to be a better way than simply surfing the web. Systematic review, however, revealed a much deeper problem. Industry players are suffering from information overload.

A better search was a start, but not enough. Customers needed synthesis, a way to pull together what was found into a meaningful story. They needed the knowledge that web sources had been reviewed and filtered; that the sources used were reliable and trustworthy; and that those doing the filtering knew the difference.

Out of these thoughts came our business model, where all web citations are filtered first by knowledgeable Guides. We exist to serve our customers, not to display our technology. The credo we have evolved centers on the following four core values:

  • Put the client first: Everything at Fiducité is designed to support the customer. There are no ads, no spam, no obnoxious pages. People back up everything we do and are always easily reachable.
  • Use a professional approach: At Fiducité, things are done the way an industry professional thinks about them. For example, professional words and concepts are used in our directory and in our synthesis products. The difference with non-professional directories and search engines is obvious.
  • Be focused: We do only one thing and aim to do it better than anyone else. We add high levels of industry expertise to all our services.
  • Use innovative approaches: The web is vast and requires an effective combination of both technology and people. Our proprietary technology and approach yields better, more targeted results than other solutions
